Dear Funky Blues Lovers: The Atlanta Blues Challenge was held last night at Earth Link Live to decide which band the Atlanta blues society was gonna send to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge. It was a great day of Blues! 8 bands played there guts out competing, and Sean Costello played a wonderful set at the end to top it all off. WRFG's Black Jack and A J were there to MC the event and did a fine job as always. Congratulations to our friends in Bluesoultion for taking 3rd place. Motor City Josh & The Big 3 took 2nd place, and owned Earth Link Live for a day. A barefoot Slim Fatz and his chicken coupe took 1st place. I would like to thank all the Josh fans that came out to support us and continue to support us we made that day happen by tripling the attendance with over 200 bus riders and 100 people that did not even ride the buses. We had a bigger draw than the 8 other bands that played and The Atlanta Blues Society combined! Not bad for only 2 years in business in the Atlanta area. There are no local blues bands in this city that can do what we did! and we are still growing in numbers. I got 32 e-mails today from new Josh fans that I meet because of the Challenge, and several valuable contacts were made. I didn't think they would send a new comer and a bunch of Detroit natives with the name "Motor City" to the International blues challenge to represent Atlanta. Our drummer went out this morning and bought a chicken coupe. There's always next year! Help keep The Blues Alive.
